If there are updates of the Client wich have effects to the data/skins-folder your skins will be save. Now you can use the skins in every client you have and not in DDNet-Client only. Why does it copy the skins in this folder and not in data/skins? The skins will be copied in the Teeworlds-Folder where the demos, maps, screenshots etc. (For Linux-users: You have to execute it via Terminal: "java -jar Skin Installer.jar".) Now you put all skins you want to add in the "Skins"-folder. For example on Desktop or in your Teeworlds-folder. jar-File and a folder named "Skins" next to each other.
